188 (Ipswich) Squadron Air Cadets and staff had an insight into the servicing which incorporated an explanation of the pulse system of an Apache helicopter. A representative from the Boeing aircraft company, Mario Gerado, kindly assisted and talked to the Cadets about the Apache helicopter and how it works.

The visit to Wattisham Airfield was held on 6th February and was arranged by Andrew Smith, a Civillian Instructor for the Air Cadets with the help of Serco and Westlands, where he showed the Cadets around the main rotar head servicing bay, where he works and explained what he does within the Apache helicopter. He said ‘the evening was very enjoyable for both the 30 Cadets and the staff and really gave them insight into the maintence side of the Apache fleet’.
