Wing Drill Competition
Today the Squadron’s drill squad attend RAF Honington in the second leg of the Norfolk & Suffolk Wing Drill Competition to battle it out for the honour to represent the Wing at RAF Wittering on 7 September 2008.
The competition came in the form of 3 other squadron from across Norfolk & Suffolk as far as Watton and Beccles to one a little more local Thetford. The competition is marked in two parts, an inspection of dress standards and then a practical drill movements section. The score is made up from both aspects totalling a maximum of 800 points available.
The squad under the guidance of its commander, Flight Sergeant Abbey Goodchild, had an good score in the uniform and inspection element, but came out on top in the drill movements section giving them a winning score of 636 points, just 5.5 point ahead of 864 (Watton) Squadron and earning them the honour of representing the Wing in September.
