Squadron Power Boating Week

The squadron recently gave the opportunity to a number of cadets to experience another of its many adventurous activities. Operating from Bawdsey Manor in the mouth of the river Deben cadets and staff spent the week learning boat handling skills and the rules of the water.
The week was kindly organised and run by Warrant Officer Kim Mason RAF and some of his boat crews from RAFSA and the RYA centre Pegasus. We used a number of craft including ridged raider & rib craft, each having there own handling charcteristist and requiring a different approach to operating in the river Deben and out to sea.
It is hope that in the coming months more cadets will get the opportunity to experience this activity and possibly even continue on to achieve there RYA Level 2 in Power Boating. All in all a great week was had by the various cadets that attended and so by the supporting staff.
