Today saw four cadets head to No. 5 Air Experience Flight (AEF) based at RAF Wyton in Cambridgeshire.  It was an early start leaving the Squadron Headquarters just after 7am, but Sargeant Joshua Mulley and Cadets Daniel Stagg, Connor Whiting and James Johnson were all in good sprits, especially as the three cadets had never been flying with the Air Cadets before and were excited about the opportunity.

Upon arrival at RAF Wyton the weather looked like it may not play ball and the wind and the rain looked like ground the aircraft, but after joining the six other Squadrons from Norfolk & Suffolk Wing the breifing video was shown and we were given the go ahead to start flying.  There was a number of first time flyers from the other attending Squadrons and some neverous faces, not sure what to expect.

Although the weather was not the best i have seen all the cadets that attend got a flight in the flying schools Grob 113 Tutor aircraft and some even tried some aerobatic maneuvers, and i’m gald to say not a sick bag was used.

Flight Times

  • Sgt Joshua Mulley – 29 minutes
  • Cdt Connor Whiting – 23 minutes
  • Cdt Daniel Stagg – 28 minutes
  • Cdt James Johnson – 28 minutes
