ATC Sunday Parade
ATC Sunday is a compulsory parade to celebrate the founding of the Air Training Corps on 5th February 1941 and is subsequently held on the closest Sunday by cadets across Britain every year. Ipswich is no exception and our parade took part on Sunday 14th February at Whitton church with the Squadron Padre, Revd. Andrew Dotchin.
The 40 strong cadets from the squadron was joined by not only the parishioners, but also the current Mayor of Ipswich. As part of the service the Padre enrolled 5 junior cadets in to the Air Training Corps and the Squadron allowing them to now start enjoying the vast range of activities that the Squadron and Corps offer to its many thousand cadets.
After the service the cadets, joined by the Mayor enjoy a selection of cakes and biscuits and a much need hot cup of tea in the church hall before heading back to the Squadrons Headquarters for dismal.
